The ColLaboratoire format

ColLaboratoire 2020 is modeled after the successful ColLaboratoire 2016 research summer school organized by PhD students in the CogNovo PhD training program in Cognitive Innovation at the University of Plymouth. Inspired by the nature of CogNovo, this project-based summer school explored collaboration as a practice. From sonifying biometrics, through exploring the city through playful means, to speculating on the possibility of Internet consciousness, ColLaboratoire 2016 provided a ground in which minds can explore the arts and science of interdisciplinary collaboration. The free summer school was aimed at Master’s and early stage PhD students, who had an open mind and were willing to exchange ideas and skills both within and outside of their disciplines. During the one-week long event, participants worked on projects that were designed to be malleable and flexible, and with space to evolve.
